OKIDATA : DRUM REPLACEMENT KIT FOR OKIDATA C5100 C5200 C5300 C5400 SERIES DRUM
CARTRIDGES
Okidata C5000 series laser printers use 4 color toner cartridges (black, cyan,
yellow and magenta) and they also use 4 drum units (black, cyan, yellow and
magenta). The toner cartridges have a page yield of 3,000 or 5,000 pages (depending
on whether the cartridges are starter cartridges or replacement cartridges),
and the drum units have a page yield of approximately 15,000 pages (estimates
based on 5% page coverage). Most customers are frustrated to find out that they
not only have to change the toner cartridges, but by the time the drum units
wear out, they have to change the drum units too! Uni-Kit has had a toner refill
solution for some time for the OKI toner cartridges, and now has released a
solution for expensive drum units as well: Uni-Kit drum replacement kits will
save you hundreds of dollars compared to buying new OEM Okidata drum units.
The original drum unit costs are usually over $100 each, so expensive that
buying 4 sets of drum units is virtually as expensive as buying a new printer!

drum is a drum cartridge that came with the printer when you first bought it. If the drums you have have been bought SEPARATE to the
printer (on their own), those drums are actually made slightly differently and have a fuse which blows out and therefore needs to be
replaced.
